This is absolutely stomach churning. Unbelievable. The people of Britain absolutely disgust me today. There’s nothing left of the true British spirit any more.

@Frances Esme Otima Have a little sympathy for the uneducated masses in your OWN country. Do you think the social infrastructure has an infinite budget? You are the enabler for radical political groups recruiting from those uneducated masses.

As a black Brit, born and raised in the UK, and a Muslim, I sympathise as such violence is unacceptable. I hope the assailants feel the full weight of the law for the crime. The case also pulls the rug from under the feet of those illegal immigrants who are merely trying yo get to the UK for a free ride - if they were truly escaping harm they would stay in France. Some of them, as mentioned to me by my French friends, say stuff like "f&^% France, we want to get to England". Why the mere attempt to just get to the UK and seek to get a house, benefits, residency, natonality etc. on the free without contributing anything? Sudan was, and still largely is, safe. In 2016 there was no need to embark on a perillous journey merely to get to the UK. This is cynical. I have met some of the illegal immigrants in France and Morocco and spoken to them, the reality is that they just want to get to the UK for a free ride, due to what they have seen on TV, imagined wealth and so forth. I know many people in Africa who are happy in their countries and helping to build them - some with a better standard of living than many of us struggling to make ends meet in Europe.

@Suzi Monkey No, not the BBC. It's a whole globalised culture: sports, global media etc. Plus, the fact that the UK is known as being one of the major economies in the world with a famed history may have something to do with it also. Also the English language, an international lingua franca.

@bob rail The difference in what I stated and Trump's outbursts are palpable however:
                    1. I am not talking about those people born and raised in the country of their birth, I am speaking about 'illegal immigrants' by dear friend. Those with no connections or associations with the new country they are trying to get to- Trump oddly made no such distinction.
                    2. My comments ar in regards to the cynical immigrants who merely think they will get things for free, not real refugees fleeing genocide, war, famine etc.
                    2. Trump himself is of an immigrant background! Trump's German grandfather (Friedrich Trump) wrote a letter to Prince Regent Luitpold begging not to be deported from the Weimar Republic. Friedrich Trump emigrated from Germany to the USA in 1885 aged 16 o escape poverty. On a trip "home" to Kallstadt in 1901, Friedrich Trump met and married his wife Elizabeth Christ and took her to the US with him. While in the US she became homesick and so they returned to Germany. However, Friedrich had failed to notify authorities of his initial departure from Germany and did not complete compulsory military service. A royal decree ordered FriedrichTrump to leave Bavaria and never return, as issued in February 1905. They left in July 1905 and Elizabeth was pregnant with Fred - Donald Trump's father. If they had accepted him back - which is what Freidrich wanted, we would not have a Donald Trump today! He's hardly the best placed therefore to talk about immigration.
                    3. Trump's own wife is an immigrant!?
                    4. Just because I criticise a political ideology and its policies does not mean I hate the country in which said ideology originated?! Likewise, if I critique Zionism, does not mean I hate Jewish peoples.
                    5. Trump, in a very cynical populist political move, is merely appealing to the prevalent white supremacist narrative in the US.

Davy Jones-Locker Do you think that the BBC World Service works to encourage or deter illegal immigration to Britain? I know it’s just your opinion but I’m very interested in this. The BBC spends a small fortune in Africa...Why? Does tv & radio in general encourage travelling to Europe? How do people know that you get better financial & educational assistance in Britain?

This is what Trump is on about why don't the educated blacks especially Americans go back and build their country always going on about their roots and want to be called African Americans southern Africa potentially richest continent on Earth run by corrupted dictators , Presidents and governments needs educated honest people to run their countries but after over 60 years of Independence I doubt it will ever happen 💰💰💰💰

Britain and Europe is overwhelmed with immigrants for whom the cannot care. All the money this costs would be better spent in the home countries. There is not enough for native Europeans much less 10s of thousands of immigrants

I don't care. It's enough. There are nearly 7 billion people on the planet and the hated white people are not responsible for them.
