I watched this series and most of the season in general, I had no clue there was an exhibition game on Sept 4th???

The '86 playoffs as whole was one of the best in MLB history. Both championship series were dog fights that had multiple extra inning games and dramatic moments.

If the Sox bullpen didn’t blow it then Buckner wouldn’t be blamed for anything and would’ve walked away with a ring

I remember this game like it was yesterday I was a Marine on Okinawa watching. The lockers being covered in plastic so the champagne wouldn't damage anything in the Boston locker room, Vin Scully was showing what the price of bread was in 1918 and with one out the team of clowns beat Boston it was hilarious and until the election of 2016 it was something that the world would never get over. Ah the team of clowns and the Boston Red Sox. HILLARIOUS.

Dude you blame the man that lost the lead! I’ve never once got upset from the guy who lost the game if he wasn’t the one who gave up the lead I usually just say they suck as a whole. Poor guy how uneducated ppl were. What a movie tho this is why I love baseball and I never knew they played the Mets and he did the same exact thing! You can’t make this up this is why baseball is the most beautiful sport

Simply put, the bullpen blew the game, Buckners error didn't allow 3 runs, with 2 outs. I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I hate how the world blamed Buckner, and those relievers got off scott free

Watch it in slow motion. The ball didn't go "right under his glove". It bounced to the right of the glove. That ball was going nuts. Watch what it did after it passed him.

Few days ago, I learned of Bill's passing, which I regret saying those things to Bill in game 6 of 86. RIP Bill.

I'm a Mets fan born in '99 and looking back at this, poor Buckner and a great player shouldn't get threatened just because of one bad play. Granted in the video they said he did it before in that season but still, leave Buckner alone at least you guys ended your curse in 2004 and have won 4 world series since 2003, my Mets haven't won since this series. My point is, don't let a bad play tarnish a great players reputation unless you're Mark Sanchez doing the Butt Fumble.

Momentum shifted after the score was tied and there was no way they were going to lose. RIP Bill from a lifetime Mets fan. U were one the greats

A little bit of coincidence here. After 1986 the redsox went into year 69 of their ws drought. The year the mets won their only other world series besides 86? 1969. Then, after coming just 1 out from winning it all in 1986 the redsox would finally win the world series in 2004. Ending their drought exactly 86 years after it began.
